Safety video highlights foam fire risks

The Resources Regulator has released a new safety animation video recreating an incident at an underground mine in Broken Hill which led to the evacuation of 46 workers.

The video tracks the timeline and causal factors that led to the outbreak of a fire when polyurethane (PUR) foam was used to fill a void.

The animation also details the findings of an investigation into the fire and includes critical recommendations for mine operators to minimise risk and future occurrence.
