Enforceable undertakings (WHS)

A WHS undertaking is a legal agreement that obliges an organisation to carry out specific activities to improve worker health and safety as well as delivering benefits to the mining industry and the broader community.

 

When an alleged contravention of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 has occurred, the Regulator may accept a Work Health and Safety (WHS) undertaking instead of initiating a prosecution.
