Assistance for new mining projects

Progressing a mining project from exploration to development has many facets.
The Mining Concierge can assist with information and support across the various development stages including:
- identifying pathways to development and approvals
- various interactions with planning proposal and consent authorities – state planning authorities and local councils
- Secretary’s Environmental Assessment Requirements (SEARs)
- Resource Economics and Assessments reviews
- connection to relevant government departments and teams within NSW Resources to address issues related to water, transport, biodiversity, rehabilitation, titles and other matters.
- modifications and post approvals
- post mining land use.
The Mine Development Panel (MDP)
The Mining Concierge manages the MDP process which gives mining project proponents proposing State Significant Developments and Local Council Developments the opportunity to discuss aspects of their project with NSW Resources before lodging a development application or modification application with the relevant consent authority.
An MDP meeting provides is an opportunity to demonstrate a proposal is a responsible and sustainable mining or petroleum development that minimises impacts on the environment and for NSW Resources to provide technical feedback to streamline the development consent process.
Please refer to the Mine Development Panel - Policy and requirements guide (PDF, 109.27 KB) which details the requirements for presentation to the Panel.
