Renew practising certificates now

Holders of practising certificates can now renew their practising certificates up to 6 months before the 5 year expiry date. We are encouraging people to do this now because a large number of practising certificates are due to expire mid-year.

A reminder email will be sent to holders’ email addresses 3 months before expiry. Holders should apply through the Resources Regulator portal at least 6 weeks before expiry to ensure they receive their new certificate in time. Those who do not apply for renewal soon risk not having a valid certificate. We process applications in the order we receive them.

To ensure a holder receives a reminder email, they must comply with a condition of their practising certificate to keep their contact details up-to-date with the Regulator. This can be completed through the Resources Regulator portal (mine workers - practising certificates section).

For further information contact the Mining competence team at mca@regional.nsw.gov.au or 1300 814 609 (option 2 then 3).
