Otraco International Pty Ltd (Otraco) has developed and published a best practice video training package as part of the Work Health and Safety (WHS) enforceable undertaking accepted by the Resources Regulator on 16 September 2019 following a serious incident at Mt Arthur mine in 2017.
On 10 August 2017, a worker employed by Otraco International Pty Ltd (Otraco) suffered serious burn injuries after a fire started while refueling a diesel-powered tyre handler at the Mt Arthur mine’s heavy vehicle refueling facility (fuel farm). The fuel ignition also set the tyre handler on fire.
The purpose of the video training package and supporting guide is to enhance competencies regarding the use of earthmoving and off-the-road tyre handlers.
