Best-practice supervision

Effective supervision is one of the most important controls for preventing incidents and managing health and safety risks at mine sites.

The Resources Regulator has launched a new video, outlining minimum expectations for supervisors, complimenting existing frameworks, processes and training individual sites have in place.

The video assesses effective supervision, including hazard identification, risk management, worker engagement and psychosocial safety.

Designed for supervisors, mine operators and safety professionals, the video is intended to support discussion, reflection and continuous improvement in safety leadership across the mining industry.

The video is now available: Supervision: A critical safety role

The Regulator hosted a webinar on 16 July 2026 to introduce the video to site leadership. A video with highlights from the session is now available.
