Annual mine safety performance report for 2023-24 published

The latest Mine safety performance report for 2023-24 (PDF, 11.78 MB) is now available.

The report provides a 10-year overview of industry safety performance and regulatory activity data under work health and safety legislation. Reporting this information provides lag indicators of safety performance and enables operators to benchmark their performance against others in their industry sector. A steady decline in overall industry frequency rates for serious injuries, lost time injuries and total recordable injuries has been observed since 2014-15, and for fatal injuries since 2016-17.
