Regulator gears up for annual safety campaign

The NSW Resources Regulator will launch its annual mine safety High-Visibility Campaign this month, focusing on key incidents at underground and surface mines.

The campaign will assess how well controls have been implemented to prevent the reoccurrence of these incidents. Inspectors will also conduct an unannounced general site inspection.

This year’s campaign, which will run from 24 June to 5 July 2024, builds on the Regulator’s ongoing engagement with industry and supports similar campaigns conducted in previous years.

Mine operators are reminded of their duty to document and implement safety procedures with regular refresher training of workers to effectively control hazards and reduce risk.
