A Milestone in Safety: 32nd Mechanical Engineering Safety Seminar Success

The 32nd Mechanical Engineering Safety Seminar (MESS), held at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth on 7-8th August 2024, has once again set the bar for safety excellence in the industry.

Over two days, 245 delegates from across the industry gathered to exchange ideas, share insights, and commit to advancing safety practices within mechanical engineering.

This year’s seminar featured an innovative program, including a firsthand account of a "Young Stat engineer Journey" and a podcast on “Good Design Strategy in Mining: Section 22.” These sessions provided attendees with fresh perspectives on the evolving landscape of engineering safety.

The event’s diverse agenda, with quality presentations, interactive elements, and opportunities for networking, was a resounding success.

Resource Regulator Acting Chief Inspector Dwaine Jones, said "the future of a safe and responsible mining industry is not just dependent on the improvement of safety devices, it is in the engagement and education of those who have the greatest influence to promote a truly great safety culture in their workplaces, these events continue to achieve just that."

We thank the industry for its ongoing support and commitment to safety across the mining sector.
