Methane gas incidents occurred in NSW coal mines

The NSW Resources Regulator has issued a safety bulletin on frictional ignition hazards within underground coal mines, which can result in dust explosion. 

There were several frictional ignitions in both longwall and development panels over the past 12 months. The Regulator continues its investigation to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding these incidents.
