Quarterly business activities report – October to December 2024 published

The Resources Regulator has published its October to December 2024 Quarterly Business Activities Report highlighting its key business activities over the quarter.

Activities include:

  • release of 18 videos covering various topics from the 2024 Mining Engineering Managers Safety Seminar on the Regulator’s YouTube channel
  • 4 investigation information releases concerning a fatality where a worker fell into a mine shaft, 2 incidents involving fires whilst refuelling petrol-powered pumps, and a worker who suffered serious injuries when a truck trailer rolled onto them
  • an investigation report in which a worker suffered serious leg injuries after being struck by a steel lifting plate
  • 2 safety bulletins about vehicle interactions and critical steering failures 
  • a safety alert regarding a haul truck strut which injured a worker 
  • 11 fact sheets covering general small mine tier 3 quarries, ground or strata failure, mining rehabilitation, service of notices, exposure to hazardous chemicals, exposure to extreme temperatures, psychological harm, fire and explosion, heat safety, musculoskeletal disorders management and mine operators managing workers under automatic mutual recognition
  • Quarterly safety report for Q1 FY 2025
  • Quarterly business activities report for Q1 FY 2025
  • 12 editions of the Weekly incident summary 
  • 6 editions of Mine Safety News
