The NSW Resources Regulator has released its Vehicle Interaction Discussion Paper and invites stakeholder views on the proposed recommendations. The Discussion Paper aims to address and improve safety measures and regulations concerning the interaction between vehicles and workers in the mining sector.
Ensuring the safety and well-being of all workers within the mining industry is of paramount importance. With this objective in mind, the Regulator has developed the Vehicle Interaction Discussion Paper and is seeking feedback on the potential pathways and positions the Regulator could take to address adverse vehicle interactions in the NSW mining industry.
Stakeholders are invited to provide their valuable insights and feedback on the discussion paper. Public consultation is an essential part of the process, as it allows for diverse perspectives to be considered when shaping policies and regulations. Consultation will be open from Thursday 27 July until 5pm, Friday 8 September 2023.

After the consultation concludes, the NSW Resources Regulator will carefully review all feedback received and consider it in the development of any necessary changes to policies and regulations. The goal is to implement robust safety measures that protect the well-being of all workers involved in vehicle interactions within the resources sector.
