The NSW Government connected with delegates from across Australia and from around the world at the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC) in Sydney in October.
With more than 11,000 attendees from across 120 nations, the conference provided a valuable platform to promote NSW as a secure and sustainable destination for exploration and mining investment, including opportunities in critical minerals as well as our traditional strengths in copper, gold, mineral sands and coal.
NSW Resources hosted an exhibition booth that highlighted the NSW Government’s Critical Minerals and High-Tech Metals Strategy 2024-35 and the Geological Survey of NSW, with specimen exhibits and live demonstrations of Minview. The Industry Development team met with international investors and arranged meetings with NSW project companies to highlight the diversity of projects in NSW. The team also supported the NextGen Program, engaging with students and young professionals in the early stages of their careers in the mining industry.
NSW Premier, Chris Minns and Minister for Natural Resources Courtney Houssos addressed the conference during the Plenary Session and highlighted the importance of NSW as a Tier 1 mining jurisdiction and the support of the NSW Government for exploration and mining projects in the state. They spoke of the benefits that these projects bring to both the regional communities in which they operate, the broader NSW community and their importance in providing minerals for the global energy transition.
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to say hello and ask the myriad of questions about investing in and operating exploration and mining projects in NSW and how the NSW Resources team can assist with the development of the state’s mineral resources.
