Drill and Blast Seminar
The Drill and Blast Seminar 2026, hosted by the Resources Regulator, brings together professionals from across the open-cut and underground blasting disciplines for a collaborative day of learning, discussion, and industry updates.
This annual forum provides a vital platform for sharing knowledge, reviewing emerging issues, and strengthening safe blasting practices across NSW mining and quarrying operations.
Throughout the seminar, attendees will hear presentations on:
- Emerging issues and trends identified through regulatory program plans
- Legislative accountabilities and compliance expectations
- SafeWork licence requirements, including process understanding and obligations
- Recent incidents and investigations across NSW mines
- Key learnings from operational sites
- New developments in explosives technology and industry practices
Attendees will also receive updates on guidelines, standards, safety alerts, bulletins, investigation releases, and other regulatory information relevant to blasting operations.
This seminar is designed for professionals involved in blasting activities, including:
- Drill and blast engineers, superintendents, managers, MEMs, and quarry managers
- Appointed supervisors (shotfirers)
- Suppliers and contractors supporting blasting operations
Participation in this seminar contributes to Continual Professional Development (CPD) requirements for holders of practising certificates. It also provides valuable opportunities for networking and direct engagement with the Regulator.
