The NSW Resources Regulator has carried out a review of the Board of Inquiry’s recommendations and determined that several are applicable to NSW coal mines.

On 21 October 2021, the NSW District Court convicted and fined Peak Gold Mines Pty Ltd $480,000 for a breach of section 32 of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 following the death of a mine worker near Cobar in western NSW
