Policy on receipt of applications for exploration and mining titles

Application Lodged  and complete in accordance with application form

Titles Officer will start processing application.

Application lodged incomplete in accordance with application form

  1. Titles officer will write to the applicant and inform them of the deficiencies and request rectification within 14 days for new exploration licence and mining lease applications or 28 days for renewal applications.
  2. If the requested material is lodged within the required time frame the titles officer will start processing the application.
  3. If the requested material is not provided within the required time frame the titles officer will commence proceedings to recommend the Minister refuse the application.

Refund of Application Fees 

  1. There will be no refund of application fees where applications are refused after not lodging the requested material within the required time frame listed above.
  2. If an applicant reapplies for the same area within a month after refusal, application fees will be reduced by 90%.
