Mining notification - General managers & production managers

Reference should be made to the appropriate section Mines Inspection ACT 1901 and General Rule 2000 for further information.

EVENT

NOTIFICATION TO INSPECTOR

REFERENCES

Nomination of general manager

Written - owner must notify the Chief Inspector through your local office as soon possible.
However the documents should be sent to an inspector for administrative purposes.

Section 5(3)

Appointment of production manager (not required for exploration)

Written - as soon as possible to the Chief Inspector.
However the documents should be sent to an inspector for administrative purposes.

Section 5B(3)

Appointment of unqualified production manager (not required for exploration)

Written - to the Chief Inspector.
However the documents should be sent to an inspector for administrative purposes.

Commencement of Mining, Abandonment, Recommencement, Change of Mine Name, Ownership and Company Officers

Reference should be made to the appropriate section Mines Inspection ACT 1901 and General Rule 2000 for further information.

EVENT

NOTIFICATION TO INSPECTOR

REFERENCES

Supply of plans & sections of abandoned mine

Within three months - supplied to the Minister.
However the documents should be sent to an inspector for administrative purposes.

Section 42(1)

Notification of commencement of shaft sinking, tunnelling or quarrying

Written within 14 days

Section 44 (a)

Notification of abandonment or discontinuation of operations (total or in part) of a mine

Written within 14 days

Section 44 (b)

Notification of recommencement of work after abandonment or discontinuation

Written within 14 days

Section 44 (c)

Notification of changes of:

Mine name

Owner or general manager

Principal officers of any company which is the owner of the mine.

Written within 14 days
