Commencement from 15 November 2010

Fees have been calculated in accordance with the cost recovery principles set out in the NSW Treasury’s “Guidelines for pricing of user charges - Policy & Guidelines Paper” and reflect the costs borne by the Department in assessing and processing authorities as required under the legislation.  This has resulted in fee increases from 15 November 2010 for the first time in thirteen years.

Previously, fees were determined by the Minister and were not specified in the Mining Regulation 2003.  The amendments have resulted in fees being set out in Schedule 10 of the Mining Regulation 2010.  These are also available on the Departmental website.
