Comments: The Metallogenic map of New South Wales displays:
  1. major metallic mineral districts shown by a symbol indicating the mineral system type and relative A$ value;
  2. the location of important deposits within a district, shown as a point with a reference number; and
  3. a 4 km buffer about mineral deposits representing a schematic outline of the extent of the mineral district or system.

This map portrays only districts/systems with a known metal endowment (past production and global resources). Districts/systems with a known metal endowment less than A$10 million are not shown. There has been no attempt to reflect the future potential of an area. The Mineral Systems of NSW poster (version 4, 2011) illustrates the mineral classification scheme for this map in more detail.
